Pulses Trading and Supply
Pulses are the dried edible seeds of some particular plants in the legume family. The four main categories of pulses grown in traded internationally are dry peas, lentils, beans and chickpeas. In terms of nutritional value, pulses are very high in protein and fibre, and are low in fat. In agricultural best practice, pulses are nitrogen-fixing crops that improve the environmental sustainability of annual cropping systems. International pulses trading and supply chain is based on a variety of shapes, sizes and colours and can be consumed in many forms including whole or split, ground in to flours or separated into fractions such as protein, fibre and starch.
Our range of well dried pulses is selectively sourced from Africa, Australia, Pakistan, Canada and Burma among others and includes the following:
- Lentils–Yellow and Red; Green, Brown, Black (Beluga) and French (du Puy) lentils
- Pigeon peas
- Kidney beans
- Yellow peas
- Green peas
- Chickpeas
